Is it normal to think someone can read your mind at age 11?

I was 11 years old and I was so convinced that my teacher could read my mind that I would think the phrase 'I hate mind readers' over and over in my head. Normal childhood thing, or early sign of mental illness?

  • I used to sit on the bus and think random things. And then I would be like "crap, what if people are reading my mind?" And then I would try to think of 'normal' things. It's funny to think about that now

  • Its perfectly normal to think about things in a different way when young. From age 4-9 I played with myself in my mind. I would pretend that someone I know reads my mind and can hear my thoughts.

  • I used to think that the government could read my mind around that age so I say it's normal.

  • If you were 11, that seems fairly reasonable. She probably knew exactly what sort of shenanigans you were trying to pull even before you had enacted the evil master plan? Adults know more about growing up than they let on a lot of the time.

  • Do you have any proof? Some form of concrete endive? If not, than you might have been paranoid.
