That's pretty dumb.
I know a lot of people that prefer to settle with one partner rather than multiple. I am one of those people. To me, having a stable life with one partner to help me raise my children provides me much more happiness than sexual polygamy or otherwise. It doesn't have shit to do with society or brainwashing, I practiced it once and decided that I didn't like it so I went to a monogamous relationship and now I am happy.
There are happy couples out there, but they don't get noticed very often because no one wants to talk about a happy couple. They want to talk about bitter divorces, spoiled ass wives and abusive husbands. Happy couples don't provide entertainment, but there are many out there. I'm happier being in a monogamous relationship. If you're happy being in a polygamous relationship, fine by me. If anyone wants to give you flack for it, to hell with them. Understand though, that if you're going to ask for someone's opinion on the subject, don't be too pissy with the results.
Unless you're trying to say that we are brainwashed to seek happiness and fulfillment. In this case, I believe that you are correct.
