I think you're very much so, normal. It would be concerning if people diddnt think in such a manner. Dont worrie about your train of thought being abnormal and spend your time pondering on the set goals developed by humans. It sounds like an interesting one. In my opinion: People set goals to be better than others and this continues. People fail and feel the need to quit but others make the goal to get better. Humans get better and better. Instead of trying to make your self happy with adequacy. Make your self happy with accomplishment and be happy that you set the bar for others to get better. Enevetably makeing the world... better.
