Is it normal to think people only like me for my sense of humor?

I love making people laugh and it seems that that's what I'm best at. I am a kind, caring person who is honest and reliable. Though I only think that people like me because I am funny and make them laugh, I want them to like me for me and who I am not just because I'm a clown. So do u think people actually like me for who I am and not just because I'm someone to laugh at since I feel that is all I'm worth at times?

In high school, with my group of friends, I was always the funny one. They never really took me seriously unless something bad or serious was happening to me. I felt like I was only wanted because I made them laugh. I don't know what your friends think but I'm sure they'd like you for your other characteristics as well. :)
