Is it normal to think overpopulation will necessitate eugenics?

With the total human population already exceeding lower estimates of the earth's carrying capacity and approaching the absolute limit at an alarming rate, I think people will be forced to accept that reproduction is a privilege, not a right. NOT for "genetic purity" or anything like that (dysgenics is so entrenched that what little progress can be made on that front isn't worth the civil liberties abuses) but because the sheer number of people will deplete the planet's resources. If huge changes aren't made, humanity will destroy itself and probably take all life with it. Right now, everyone's ignoring this problem because they can't swallow what's necessary to fix it. They'd destroy the entire human race just to preserve the fraction of it that otherwise wouldn't be born. But I think as the problems become more urgent that will change. People will accept restrictions on bringing life into this world, or in a couple centuries there won't be any life on this world.

  • Don't worry, nature has a way of balancing species out. If we get too over populated, we'll get a virus that will wipe a good portion of us out.

If that doesn't work, we'll naturally die of starvation for lack of food until we have a population that's sustainable on the current supplies.

Also, birth rates are actually declining in 1st world countries. It's the elderly and longer life expectancy that are causing the over population at the moment, not the high birth rate. In about 20-30 years they'll die off and the US will be in a better situation.

  • This is a theme that has been forecasted for centuries. Actually, the human race has been capable of coming up with alternate ways to ensure that life will continue. Have faith. I do.

  • The reason that the world has such a high population is because, so many people WANTED to be here for this time period. Before we were born into our bodies, we chose to be here. Although it may be hard for us while we're in these lives and the social conditioning we've been through. This time period has been forseen around the world in multiple different cultures. The Mayans, the ancient Egyptians, pretty much all enlightened and advanced cultures knew. In the great pyramid in Egypt there is a timeline that has been correct so far. it predicted the world wars, 9/11 and 2012 was the BIGGEST and most important time out of the whole timeline. This many people wanted to be present for the transition of drudgery into the age of enlightenment.

  • We will be fine until we run out of petroleum. Then war, disease, pestilence, and poverty will rule the world. The top 1% will still be the puppet masters.
