Is it normal to think no major problem in this world can be fixed?

  • That is all fine and well, but it is possible to take that "well everyone has their opinions!" mindset too far. I think that is starting to happen more on this site and also ib the US. If a client comes to me and says they feel healthy, and they are 5'3" 350 pounds, I will tell them they are not. If they say they are strong and they can only squat 205, I'll say they aren't very strong. If their opinions about themselves are wrong, I am going to mention it. Your not wrong, it is just that people take it too far and loose their objectivity about things sometimes. Like the heavensgate cult or whatever when it was fourty peoples 'opinion' that they would be saved if they commited suicide. That is the type of opinion that I feel responsible to take a stand on. But there are still many things that even if I don't agree with you on, if your not doing some horrible evil or lying to yourself about it, I'll let it go. For example, if someone says abortion is totally fine, I disagree, but I'm not going to try to push my pro-life belief on you. But if you think it is heathly for your to weigh 400 pounds, I am going to push my belief that that is not true on to you. It is very situational, if you catch my drift. I appreciate your thoughts!

    • Oh, opinions can be wrong. Of course opinions can be wrong.

How does a 350 lb person who is only 5'3" wipe their ass?

There is plenty of people who have awful opinions that are clearly wrong.

      • I know you agree that opinions can be wrong. The question is : At what point or in what situations you determine when you try to convince them otherwise? And why?

        • I guess, you could call it to the person's attention if it's someone that is harmful to them, or someone else.
