I guess it is one thing to be a bit timid and unsure - or even, if its a real good thing, to think: "This is too good to be true." Many of us feel a bit undeserving in the love department (we're just oh so modest!).
But I'm a bit wary of how this extends to trusting your friends and them playing a mean trick. You must know, based on their past behaviour, if they are trust worthy. And whether it is a trick or not, you may wish to reassess the quality of these friendships.
I mean maybe you have trust issues yourself - you would know. But a friend for me wouldn't be one without trust.
