My boyfriend thinks so. He was going to throw out a sock with a hole in it, I put in over my hand like a puppet, said "I love you!", and he was all, "Damn it, Janny! Now I cant throw it out!"

Yes that is normal, but it can neither be proved or disproved.

Some people fall in love with them and have sex with them. Some people even marry them.

No mate, not normal at all. It would be nice if you clarified though. By inatimate objects do you mean every inatimate object, even like rocks, dildos and clothing? Or just certain inatimate objects, and if so what are they?

I kept asking Amazon Alexa if I was annoying her until I got used to talking to AI. I still routinely say thank you to her.
