Both my parents have brown eyes, and so does my brother. But mine are blue. It's a recessive trait. However, I have heard that two blue-eyed people can only have a blue-eyed baby.
For eye colour blue is a recessive gene and brown is dominant, so you can't 'carry' brown (or you will have brown eyes) the way brown eyed people can carry blue as a recessive gene and if two brown eyed people meet and they both carry the blue gene then 1 out of every 4 of their children should statistically have blue eyes. Other colours are just variations of the blue / brown.
My dad, black hair, very dark brown eyes.
My mom, auburn hair, brown eyes.
Me, blonde hair, blue eyes.
4 siblings, brown hair, brown eyes.
I hope we haven't opened a can of worms with some brown eyed kid, thinking his 2 blue eyed parents are his natural parents ;o)
Is it normal to think I might have other father?
