This is true. On a site once deemed the network for "lookers".. Met up with a guy for dinner. His pictures were so promising. He looked polar opposite in person though, I am not shallow whatsoever. He was basically incredibly photogenic and not my type in person.
The only other person I met from that was someone I just had a lot in common with. Although (physical attraction alone) he didn't seem like my type in his pictures, I figured a coffee date couldn't hurt. He turned out to be gorgeous beyond comprehension. Imagine the dark haired "wolf" from True Blood. Italian and everything nice, too.
Sometimes the better they look in pictures, they may appear quite different in person. The average seeming person: total knock out hottie. Being photogenic is the issue, if there is any... set no expectations.
All in all, give it a shot at least. He may be both. Attractive, nice and even better in person?
I'm telling ya, I actually think it sucks to be photogenic. I'm not completely, I just know my good angles, but I can never bring myself to show the really bad ones.
Last guy I met like that was very very good looking in his pics... but then in person I was disappointed.
IIN to think he's now too hot for me?

Awwww.... It's normal, of course it is. Just remember some people are more photogenic than others! Keep you expectations lower!
I, for instance, am a fraud - my pictures look so much better than what I really look like!
It's embarrassing :(
