Is it normal to think he likes me ?

there is this guy we have been friends for 2 years and we have been through alot in those two years recently he went through an operation and a week after the operation was his birthday all though he went through an operation he still called me for his birthday picked me up and when we were leaving the restaurant he offered me his jacket and he was only wearing a v-neck i declined it at first but after few minutes he made me wear his jacket. i know this sounds stupid but does he like me? i really don't want to read something wrong.

      don't hate him he doesn't like v-neck but the problem was his best friend gave him that so he couldn't say no.

    He probably likes you as more than a friend, because the way you describe it the casual observer would think it's your birthday not his.

      thanks but no it was his birthday. but the problem is he is a very sweet guy i mean at least to me and his few other friends and i like him too and he is kind of overprotective of me but i don't know if i should tell him that i like him or not. i don;t want to loose him as a friend who has been there for me for past 2 years
