Is it normal to think everything is fake?
Truth is something people take for granted. People assume things are true when really they have no reason to think so.
Think of the text books. How do we know anything described in the science text book is true when we never saw the experiments and don't know enough to do them ourselves? What if every thing they tell us about science is a lie and all of it from how rocks are made to how plants grow is completely fake? How can we trust anything in the history text book when historians themselves admit that many things taught as historical fact are guessed at or completely made up just to fill in the blanks?
What about news? How do we know anything talked about on the news is even happening and isn't just made up to make us think of the world the way we're supposed to? How do we know the people running for the American election exist and aren't just icons to make us think something is happening?
How do we know if the people we know are really our friends? Maybe they just pretend to be when they don't like us if we're lucky! But maybe they could be worse and pretending to be our friends as part of some kind of plan! How do we know anyone is who they say they are? The guy selling hot dogs on streets is maybe a government spy. Especially people on the internet, we can't know they're real people.
How do we know this whole world isn't part of some big plan and every thing we think we know is completely wrong and is meant to make us think that the world is different from what it is. Maybe it's not even the government or some other group. Maybe it's forces we don't understand something that's not human. We can't know!
I'm not saying any of what I said is true, I'm just saying that maybe the people think things are true without really thinking about if we aren't being lied to on every level. What is true? How much do we take the truth for granted?
