Is it normal to think "asexuality" is totally not a thing?

  • By that logic then it’s just as possible your subconscious is imagining a man sucking or being penetrated by it, making you gay or bi, right?

    • Well it would be possible, but not 'just as' possible because a much lower percentage of poeple are gay than straight. But if you are gay or bi, then sure! Why not?

      • Youre saying that subconsciously asexuals masturbate to something they're not consciously attracted to. In that case it must also be a possibility that you subconsciously masturbate to men. Does that mean it's unacceptable to call yourself straight?

        • How am I supposed to know? That is up to the individual if you ask me. Its not possible to really get inside soemone's head to figure that out. Also the line between straight and bisexual isn't really an exact science.

          • Then what makes you think you can get inside an asexual's head to figure out what they are and aren't attracted to?

            • Hormones regulate sex drive, and everyone has sex hormones. So everyone has a sex drive, but what that drive is towards is tough and complicated to figure out. In my opinion of course! I also never claimed to know anything about what the attraction is or is not directed to, I am just saying that I don't think anybody has zero sex drive.

              • Ok dude no problem. I am guessing youre the same guy we argued about gays being less attractive before. although I think your views are a little narrow, you're respectable about it and I can see where youre coming from, so its an interesting discussion.

I just dont get why you don't think they should call themselves asexual. Also I think that sex drive is different from sexual feelings. Im sure asexuals still have sexual feelings, but they lack the drive to act on them with another person.
