There are many sexy places on the body for women to have tattoos, such as the shoulder, ankle, small of the back, and even small ones on a toe. But a tattoo on the arm (which are normally larger sized), to me, are trashy looking, low class, and tacky.
I just saw Melissa Gilbert on Dancing With The Stars with the worst kind of arm tatoo, a curving around the arm one! Simply awful. On her, on Pam Anderson, and on Angelin! Jolie as well.
The fact is, women, for the most part, wear less clothing than men. When a woman has to look appropriate, for whatever reason, showing an arm tattoo just brings to mind the old man sailor tattoos. That's not how I want to look in a sexy gown or a bathing suit.
Arm tattoos look bad enough on most guys, and I, for one, am a girl who loves her tats, but want mine to represent my femininity and not my "bad girl" side.
JMO, though. Glad I'm not alone on this.
