Put yourself out there specifically when he ISN'T around. You will be better for taking a risk even if you don't get exactly the reactions you want, people usually never do! It's kinda like riding a bike. You can't ride fast or learn to do wheelies with your parent holding on to guide you. Be you! Who cares what people think? I don't think you are weird :) So many people become dependent in romantic relationships that it eventually kills any love they may have had, or forbid you break up, you will feel you have no confidence at all. Trust yourself, get out there, and show the world who you are: with or without a guy!!
