As a mature woman I have to say, "yes", it is very normal. I had a boyfriend who was 52 yrs. old and I'm sure that he shares your same feelings. He initially saw me walking down the stairs of a candy shop while driving by and stopped to compliment me. I later found out that he is obsessed with big breasts and that is why he pulled over and approached me. His ultimate fantacy is to have two women at one time. He is constantly looking at women's breasts and approaches older women in the market, etc. to compliment them and invite them to dinner just so that he can see what's underneath their blouse or sweater. I think that he carries this obsession a bit too far but I'm sure that he would pat you on the back and say "pay them a compliment and take it from there".
