Is it normal to think about everything with your own voice and speech?

I always talk to myself in my mind and argue about silly things. The main subject is thinking with my own voice and with the same way I talk but just in my ears/mind. I hear my own voice all the time and I also read that way. I'm never silent in my head and always will be using my talking voice. I always think if others don't use their own talking voice to think about everything. How is that even possible to read a book without using the words and pronouncing them. I can't see it possibly to just look at the words and BAM take in the knowledge and continue. I don't see it :<

Most people hear the voice of an elderly Ukrainian woman named Bushka.

I don't have this. I think in Tyler, the Creator's voice

    Very normal!

I also imagine characters in books as people I know in real life and read their words in those people's voices. When I'm watching a movie I'll sometimes even do it if someone reminds me of someone I know IRL.

Otherwise, it is just my voice in my head all the time.

Its impossible to be thinking of nothing, therefore normal.

Normal just like sleeping on your side.

I find it easier to read without that inner voice when I read in my native tongue. Guess it's the familiarity with the language or letter imagery, as duft mentioned. However, I can't think without "talking" to myself, for some reason. Unless it's just imagery.

Almost everyone has this, Lately I've been trying to shut it off. Supposedly you can read faster without it. It's hard to explain but the words just go straight to your brain, probably associated with images instead. It's super helpful to avoid the internal translator when learning languages too, and just pull word associations from mental images. But damn, my internal voice told me to write all this too
