I think it's okay to play the lesbian card but it's probably better for you to tell him you're not interested. If I may ask, why is it so hard to tell him the truth? Maybe you have some issues with codepenency? I do. It's a codependent characteristic to have a hard time telling someone the truth because you're afraid of their reaction.
