  • As you said, once you stop the pills these disorders usually come back. If your condition is severe, you shouldnt stop the pills. The pills can only control the illness, it cant cure it.

  • It's normal to be told that you need medication for life for a variety of conditions.

However, advances in medications or other treatments in the future may reduce or eliminate that requirement.

  • It is normal and you should listen to your doctor.
It's very common with bipolarity that people quit taking their meds during manic phases because they believe they are cured now. I had a friend like that once. It's a terrible idea. Some people do quit their meds and find that they are able to live without it but that entirely depends on the severity of your condition. If your doctor believes you'll always need the meds then you should probably listen. You could talk to your loved ones as well and ask their advice since they know you and I take it they know what you're like without meds.

  • A specialised bipolar forum would be a better place to ask this.

    • Yeah! Back then it was really fucked up I thought myself as a loner worthless guy in Depressive episode and King of the World like filled with super confidence in Manic episode in both sides I sometime tried to kill myself but now I'm married and have 2 kids and life is normal as long as I'm taking medicines as per doctor. But I want some alternate way of remaining as it is without medicines could you able to suggest some solution.

      • I cant man I wish I could. I know that jogging or some form of cardio is great for raising serotonin levels. It sounds insignificant but it really does work good. I notice a big difference in my mental state when I am doing lots of cardio.

I feel that as I've aged I've naturally gotten abit more calm and measured. The manic episodes only happen if I take pills or drink or something. My life is just better quality and I'm more mature and I stay busy.
