Is it normal to take 24+ hour naps?

This is like the 5th or 6th time now that I’ve taken a nap and not woken up until an entire day has gone by. I’ve taken dozens of 12+ hour naps before.

I take classes on Mondays, Wednesday’s, and Fridays, so I will fall asleep after class on Monday and my Wednesday morning alarm will wake me up.

Honestly it’s starting to scare me a little bit, I set an hour long alarm if I ever know I’m going to take a nap but sometimes I just accidentally fall asleep.

I wake up hungry, angry, confused, and really having to piss.

Thank you for calling the narcoleptic hotline... All of our operators are asleep. Please leave a message after the tone.

Actually not normal to sleep that long unless maybe you just had a tooth pulled and were on codeine, just got back from a trip around the world, worked 10 consecutive 18 hour days, etc. etc. Definitely not 5 or 6 times recently.

    Please see your doctor ASAP.

It is normal to sleep alot. Not normal to wake up angry and confused.

I'm usually the opposite. Up to 40 hours no sleep, all good. Sometimes up to five/six times in just a fortnight. Bad health? Possibly. Hallucinations, definitely!
You're more normal than me, hombre.

I believe that the longest I've ever slept was 25 hours in a row. It's pretty weird to wake up from such a sleep.

I'm not sure when a nap turns into something else, but I'm pretty sure it's long before the hour hand has made a full circuit of the clock.

This does not sound normal. It's possible the problem could be psychological (depression being the most likely candidate), but there could be a physiological issue.

It seems to me you're right to be concerned, and you should see a medical professional about this.

I'd say that two hours is the cut-off point between nap and sleep.
