Is it normal to suck at everything?

  • Not everyone will be able to do something well on the first, second, or even 38th try. Da Vinci might have been dyslexic, but that didn't prevent him from learning to read and write (and eventually, write backwards with one hand while drawing with the other). Nobody is born dancing; first you lay on your back and cry, then you crawl, then stumble, walk, run, and finally dance. You aren't guaranteed to be born a Mozart, but you are guaranteed that with practice, anything you do can be improved, even if you fail to reach godlike levels. Don't compare yourself to others. Simply be the best you can be and never make the mistake of believing that you know everything there is to know about yourself or whatever subject comes to mind; in doing so, you will only hold yourself back from realizing further possibilities. Don't be afraid to suck; if you don't subject yourself to adversity, how will you know your own strength?
