Is it normal to study foreign languages for fun?
I'm currently learning Arabic and Hebrew. They're great, and very related. I've also learned Spanish and Portuguese. I am familiar with Norwegian as well.

Some people do just like languages... I'm one of those people too (currently learning Spanish and Portuguese, coincidentally).
I do plan to work using them though. I'm a qualified English language teacher and hope to travel and work soon. Once I get fluent in something else I'll be able to find even more work :)
I think that is pretty normal, lots of people love languages for the most different reasons. I love them too. I'm currently learning Hebrew, Latin and Greek. I'm thinking of learning Arabic as well, once I'm better at Greek. I even started reading a very good grammar of Quranic Arabic, but I'm having a lot of trouble remembering the vocabulary, since I don't have the time to focus on Arabic right now. It's very interesting, though, and the grammatical system is already becoming familiar to me. I believe I would have found it much more difficult if I were not already advanced in Hebrew once I started reading the book, however. They share some very similar semitic patterns, so I got used to the first difficulties of Arabic much faster than most people from an Indo-European background would be able to.
Absolutely! I do the same! I grew up in a Russian and Mansi speaking household, learned Chinese as a child, and took on Mongolian in my early teens. English is my 5th language and it’s the language I’m worst at speaking (I have a heavy Siberian accent) I’ve been thinking of taking in a new language but haven’t found the time yet
I used to when I was a kid. I'd ask every person I met if they spoke another language and I got any book I could find on the subject...it was the early 90's and I lived in a very small town so there wasn't much available. One library had an Italian course that was on records. My best friend's sister gave me her French book and I still have it almost 30 years later.
