I quit because I became aware that existence and sentience are gifts that should not be wasted. As much as that seems like commonsense, I assure everyone that when you're 15 and you stumble Shopenhauer's philosophy, it is not.
Anyway, I am six years out of the habit and I have a set of forearms and thighs covered in scars. Whatever your reasons are for stopping, congrats. Life is better without it.
Despite this, I choose not to regret my scars. I see them as reminders of what it took to get to the person I now am.
IIN to stop cutting for this reason?
