This indeed does happen to some older kids. Even sixteen. My son takes a drug called desmopressin at night, and it keeps him 100 percent dry. And to my understanding, the drug has no negative side effects and even has some neuroprotective benefits. If you're uncomfortable taking a drug indefinitely, you could take it only when you plan on being at sleepovers, campouts, etc. Best of luck, and you're normal!!
