Is it normal to still love someone after few years? no contact at all

is it normal to still be completely in love with someone years after a bad breakup? even if there has been no communication for years? curious to know a guy's perspective. Do guy's get over love easier or quicker? (when I say love, I mean love. The truly did love me) and is it normal to have them in my daily thoughts and dreams.
I suppose the biggest question is why do we love certain people so deeply (even though they are long gone), how come this never subsides? will it ever? Is it just a woman thing... to never get over it?.....

    i agree with you. i am choosing to hold on. although a part of me feels it is better to have this feeling of missing them, than nothing at all....

      no one can make you let go as you know :) But then you shouldn't be bothered by what you are choosing to keep in your imagination, and if you let yourself think about them, then you will miss them, if you don't then you won't.

    It's def normal and the things you want to take back to have that person back you can't, it's not just a woman thing it's normal

    I agree fully. I alos await the day when the aswer becomes clear. Essentially the experiences we have, and with whom, enable us to evolve exactly how we are intended to... I believe. So perhaps the reason is to evolve, learn and grow.. and to love.

    In the end, love is all that remains. So I'd rather love someone, even if from a distance than not at all..

    I am In the same spot. For the most part I think if you truely love someone - you should never give up on them. I am still trying to accept that this is the way it needs to be. People come in & out of your lives for reason. I hope one day the answer will present it's self.

    I don't think guys do it. They seem to get over it really easily. Besides that, yeah I think its normal. I don't fall for someone easily, but when I do I hold them close for a long time. I'm beginning to wonder if there even is a guy who will stick around.

    Probably not. :P
    Anyways. I know how you feel, and it is hard. Stay strong.
