He should not have hit you, but you should have not called him rude and stupid. It is his house, his TV, and if you don't like it move out. However, he should not just turn the TV while you were watching it unless that is all you do (watch TV). You could have replied in a nice manner and not be so rude. It does take two. Do you not have more than one TV? The cops is a stupid alternative.
