Both you and your father were in the wrong. If you still live with them, then its time you move out and you won't have to deal with your parents. Parents (not all but most) have a lot more respect for you if you are on your own living in your own place. If they moved in with you in your own place, then its time for you to have an adult conversation about how you all are going to try to respect each other and establish boundaries so you can all get along (and if this is the case and he smacks you again, he's gotta go).
