How old are you? You should try to find a way to move out..if you said he's dealing with psychological issues, (that is still not a reason to hit your child) then there might be something that has changed in him..or something that he needs to work out with himself and perhaps some counseling. There also seems to be like, some unresolved feelings you have towards him as well. Btw, don't call your parents rude or stupid. It doesn't deserve a hit, but you shouldn't say things like that over something so little like changing the channel. I think calling the cops would cause too much drama and even add more to the fire..
Is it normal to still get hit by your parents and not be a minor?
