I have the same problem and its been 12 years. she was totally awesome! perfect in every way (at least that's how i remember her). we didn't have a fight or anything- there was a tragedy in her family and she moved away to leave the memories behind. It's normal but you have to move beyond it. Try to get back in touch with him. I so regret I let my girl go. if you can't find him or if it doesn't work out you just have to move on. I am happily married with a baby boy but I still think about my ex girlfriend sometimes. My wife understands and is cool with it. If he means so much to you try to find him again and start over.
