If you think money gives you freedom, then you are sadly mistaken. Money has it's own responsibilities, believe me; you now have something to lose. And as for the inheritance, if you haven't seen the will, you have no idea how it will be disbursed. It could go into a trust, with a trustee who distributes the money as he or she sees fit, or a trust with lots of restrictions.
Piss momma off and the will gets changed and voila; girl friend gets nothing if she's with you.
Too many pitfalls to count, IMO.

You hit the nail right on the head. I could waste the next 30 years of my life but If Mom drives off a cliff next week CHA CHING!
It sounds heartless but I'm just being honest, the inheritance would give us freedom to live our own lives.
