I don't understand what is so painful about this relationship if you are "cool with each other"? If you are separated , what is the difference? typically financial situations are easier with a second income contributing . I know you say you are not superficial but this entire post has been about money . I think the biggest cause for concern is the fact you are up and ready to leave your lover because of something like money , this is more of a concern to me and the rest is pretty irrelevant sorry to put it bluntly . I must add one more thing , this "2 Million" .... surely you don't believe this or think this makes sense as a reason to stay , do you?
