Yes, if your friend is putting you down she is jealous of you (she needs to put you down because she feels inferior to you). I am a 20 year old male and I am going through the same thing with one of my "mates". We have been friends for years and we're as close as brothers. But WHATEVER I say or suggest to him, he disagrees and says the complete opposite, He interrupts me when I am talking or telling a story, its like I am stealing his thunder and he wants all the attention. I am an open and honest person though and my way of resolving it is telling him exactly how I feel (it makes my blood boil because I think he is doing it on purpose). To resolve this issue, tell her how you feel but dont be aggressive, eg if she starts putting you down, say something like, "Oh I wish you would hang out with me more often, you make me feel so good about myself :)" but say it jokingly. She may not realize how she is behaving, saying something like that will make her aware.
Is it normal to stay friends with someone I hate?
