Is it normal to start spotting while first starting birth control?

I haven't had my period since March earlier this year and no I was not pregnant or ever were pregnant. I finally got on the pill and now that I'm on the pill I've seen spotting and feeling menstruation cramping. I'm only on the first week of the birth control and I don't know if I should be worried or not. So, is it normal for me to see spotting before I'm on my first week of birth control?

    Glad I'm not the only one who responds fucky to birth control. I had my period for 21 days straight on that crap until I finally stopped taking it.

    If you have any concerns though, go see your doctor. S/he will be able to put your mind at ease.

    Go to the gynocologist as I once knew a friend who went off the pill,and discovered her pill was making her have her period. Probably not the case here, but it's good to go get checked out.
