Is it normal to speak in this manner?

Is it normal for me to use religious iconography and reference to the bible when I'm at emotional extremes?

Even though I'm agnostic I generally tend to side with the Christian religion because I've always found myself to easily associate with it as opposed to the others.

That's rather bizarre to me. Can you give an example?

There was a man I knew a long time ago that used to do that. I couldn't help but laugh. It just sounds silly and a bit dated and not in a charming way. :/ There is no harm in it just keep in mind, you might sound a bit silly to most people.

It's normal, at least for those knowledgeable enough to use Biblical references and allusions.

As a side note: It always really annoys me when people reference something that implies that Mary Magdalene as being a prostitute before she met Christ. It was a DIFFERENT woman who followed him that used to be a prostitute (I forgot her name). Mary Magdalene was the one with seven devils inside her that Christ got rid of. She was never a prostitute.

Agreed, I'd like an example as well, I'm intrigued :)

Take my ex for example: I called her "jezebel" (referencing to the new testament Revelation 20:4 I think) and called her an icon of sin. I also referenced her to Judas and Jesus' last supper. Ending our relation with "It would be better for him if she had not been born"

Jezebel seems to be quite a popular one, so that wouldn't be extremely unusual. It's one of those biblical references that have mingled into popular usage (along with things such as "fire and brimstone.") I guess it does make for some interesting wordplay.

I like it. It sounds epic and amusing. I say carry on!
