Children should be saying their first words around age one and combining 2-3 words around the ages of 2 & 3. I guess my question would be. What do your parents mean by communicating with them? You saying juice if you wanted juice? Or saying my ball to get a ball. This would be typical. If you were actually holding a back and forth conversation with questions and answers I'd say that would be more advanced. I'd be curious to know what a one to two year old would be conversing about?!
Is it normal to speak at one year old?
