Is it normal to sometimes temporarily lose hearing in one ear?

Every now and then this happens. One ear suddenly goes deaf, and immediately I hear a pretty loud ringing (in that ear only), and the ringing + silence slowly fade out as normal sound fades back in. Sometimes the ringing sort of descends in pitch as it fades. This lasts only about 5 seconds and then I'm totally fine.

    Put some olive oil in that ear when it happens

    It happens to me too!
    this is very normal, about 70% of teenagers who listen to music have it.
    It's because you listen to music at a loud voice. But it's normal anywayz

    it's normal.
    happens to me all the time, one of my hear just dims while the other is fine.
