On Christmas Day last year, I left 1030 computers on while I slept. Well, 1030 cores, at any rate. Much fun having that kind of processing power. Even if I did have to wait until the one day no-one else wanted to use them.
I often invite colleagues to picnics and sleepovers at our server farm. The humming is very restful, and I love watching at all the little bunnies that live there.
Is it normal to sleep with the computer on?

Analysing a dataset of truly huge proportions for a colleague and also shaving off some clock cycles for two vanity projects of mine.
I didn't get any useful results and it'll be another 18 months before he publishes the research on his results.
I'd forgotten all about it until I read your post.
