  • Other: I've done it before but I can't say I actually slept my best.

At least not unless I turn the monitor off.

As for the humming noise - that may be white noise you're sleeping too, coming from the fan. White noise is particularly good for sleeping since it can cover up other mild sounds that may be distracting you.

You may want to consider having a fan running instead of the computer however since keeping a computer on 247 may shorten its lifespan.

    • Yes, I turn off the monitor. It's just the sound I like.

A fan may be good though.

    • I been a computer junky since 1994 and have always left my computer on 24/7. Thee only time it shuts off when it's time for rebooting. Unless someone owns a junk for a computer, you can normally keep your computer running 24/7 every year. By the time it's ready to wear out, just trust me, you're about due for an upgraded computer anyways, or you'll be running an antique....

So this has answered the question if I sleep with my computer on to the person who created the poll.... YES, all the time!

      • O yeah I keep mine on 247 too, but I've also probably run it into the ground... and I should have closed the top when I wasn't using it more often. cos now the video brightness flickers. but it's been doing that for a year now too. although, it's also 4 years old now. :)

        • By any chance, are you using a laptop? .. If a laptop, they're not meant to run 24/7, only a desktop you can because they are the real work horse machine.. If it's a desktop you're using, it could be numerous things to the cause. Maybe a virus at one time. Could be the monitor. Might be the product machine you're using. Or could be a flute thing where you got unlucky with that particular computer. Or what about updates? Keeping sure with the updates with everything?

Sorry for the questions, and I'm sure you're a smart person. But these things can happen..
