I am a guy, I always love to put my fingers in my butt when I am at bed to sleep, I put my four fingers in my butt and let my middle finger touch my hole, or insert the tip of the finger a little bit inside my hole ( half an inch of it ) and keep it like that until I fall asleep.
This is always makes me feel very relax and comfortable, and helps me to sleep quickly and without any problems, especially when I am sleepless, as if it is kind of ON/OFF button.
Maybe that is because I used to insert dildo and other things in my hole to enjoy every while.
