Yes, normal. If you get a dog and have he dog sleep in your room, you'll sleep better. I keep a loaded shotgun in my closet and dog at the foot of the bed.

When I first lived alone, I kept a golf club by the bed for a couple of weeks. Now I don't care. If someone breaks in and they're armed, I'm in trouble anyway. If they're not armed, they're in trouble.
