Is it normal to sleep all day?

Is it normal to sleep all day and stay awake all night? My mom says it leads to depression and complicates the metabolism, but it's really hard for me to fall asleep at night.

Is It Normal?

  • Some people just cant help it! I know i do it! Just try to be outside or during the day being around truly good friends so you do not become depressed, also trying to stay physical it will make you feel better and sleep great during the night:)

  • I've battled depression for YEARS. I find that when I'm upset I sleep all day. (Or, of course, if I was up all night). You may just need to force yourself to stay out/occupied all day so you're not tempted to go to sleep. Sleep's a great way to escape it all. But too much can lead to being an 'addict' so to speak, like you ALWAYS want to escape. Next thing you know you're sleeping for an entire month. Happened to me a few times. But anyway, if you're a teenager it's a bit more normal than an adult (like me) to do. So don't be too hard on yourself!

  • That's EXACYLY how I am . My days and nights and switched around but I don't see anything wrong with it. But is it " normal" I suppose that depends on peoples definition of normal. For me it's totally normal .
