Is it normal to see words in complete nonsense?

No, I'm not talking about 'cna yuo raed tihs?' I mean literal nonsense. I can see 'ruby' out of 'R68EV,' 'umbrella' out of 'U4M7RA' etc.
I talked about it once with a friend of mine and they didn't know it was a thing bc they couldn't do it. Is this normal?

Please put a comment as to what it might be πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The brain tries to make some kind of sense even out of chaos.

Of course substituting numbers for letters or weird abbreviations is nothing new.

There used to be some book called "C D B?" it was short for "See the bee?" The response was "D B S A B Z B" for "the bee is a busy bee".

And the band Journey has an album called "E5C4P3" which means "escape".

Point is, you are not the first.

To be fair, "E5C4P3" is a pretty easy one.

BUT, can you name one of the radio songs that came from that album without looking it up?

            Don't Stop Believing
            Open Arms

I momentarily forgot about Who's Crying Now. Also I thought for a moment that Separate Ways was on that album.

Thanks for the quiz, dear heart. You made me remember a part of my life that has been dead for almost 19 years.

This isn't what I'm referring to though. If you look at the examples I give the one that says umbrella has no numbers substituting the other letters. Yet I still see the word umbrella. I know that it does not say umbrella but I still see it.

      • A desirable trait in cryptographers is that they can look at what most would see as a jumbled mess and see patterns, deeper translations, concepts, and abstract ideas. These abilities are obviously something you possess.

I do a little code deciphering for fun and I think you would be good at it.
