Only happens when I go for a long time without sleeping. It's very easy to fall into the trap of believing whatever your brain presents to you. The feeling of being watched by a presence is also common when sleep deprived. I think it's an evolutionary throwback that no longer serves much of a purpose now that we are less under threat all the time.Try and find out a way to eliminate the shapes out the corner of your eyes, whether that involves getting more sleep or training yourself to not give in to the built in biases of a weary brain!
