Well it really just depends.
Though the majority of reports usually say they experience a feeling of almost pure evil, some report them as being like a guardian. But they don't appear to be wandering spirits very often (though they sometimes appear curious)
Is it normal to see shadow people?

Interesting.
So have you encountered these shadows? If they aren't wondering spirits and appear to be curious sometimes then they are aware right?

No, I have not encountered them myself. Yes I would presume they are aware and intelligent.
