Is it normal to see myself in third person?

  • I found your post whilst googling to find if deliberately viewing myself in the 3rd person could give me a more useful perspective on self than just being me. What I find is that just seeing myself from the perspective of peering through my own eyes gives me no useful perspective what so ever, I'm not even in view. By seeing myself in the 3rd person I'm better equipped to judge whether I am being the person I aspire to be. From your own example , I can just sit in front of the tv watching crap and the thought that I'm pissing my life away cheaply might not occur, but if I could see myself I might think "what a lazy #~@k, that's not who I want to be" or "jesus, is that me?".

Whether it's normal or not I wouldn't worry about. I think it's a perspective that will give you superior insight to yourself.
