I have had a good few occurrences like this in my sleep especially when younger. Dead relatives do still come to me in my dreams(occasionally still) and warn me about future events I'm going to encounter among other stuff I knew nothing about previously. The thing I did notice about what you wrote was this 'brightness'. I always get this with them...pure bright white light but not painful and a sort of look in their faces of peace that is different than normal,or rather in this world. You can guarantee your grandfather is looking over you,how much more proof do you need. I talk to mine knowing they are listening,maybe do the same to let them know that you know they're about. I think this is a wonderful experience you had..and yes,you feel very different in the morning,a sense of peace in a way. He's just letting you know he's around you!
