Is it normal to search to find my imaginary girlfriend?

i mentioned about my imaginary girlfriend on one of my previous posts: https://www.isitnormal.com/post/is-it-normal-to-have-an-imaginary-girlfriend-296270

for a past few months i began tho think like 'my imaginary girlfriend is somewhere around near me, and she must be taking to me when i talk to her every evening'

As long as it is realistic enough, there might be a slim chance that someone out there might (and I mean MIGHT) look like your imaginary gf or resemble them. Not too sure, because you'd have to explore the entire world to possibly encounter someone similar to the previously mentioned gf. But yeah, they might not be out there either (not to discourage you).

I think it's better to break up with imaginary girlfriends first - before they break up with you

I've never dated or even kissed a girl, and I'm about to turn 20 years old, and it frustrates me and makes me very lonely. I was worried that I'd never get a girlfriend, so I created an imaginary girlfriend in hopes that it could fill the void. I text myself on the phone and have "her" respond back to me.Whenever I'm in my room alone, I'll talk to her. I really love her, but sometimes I feel really sad because I know deep down inside she isn't real. But I still love her, and I love talking to her everyday. I just can't let her go now, and all the real women I used to have a crush on, I don't anymore. I can't fall in love with any other women now because I love "her." I don't know what I've done to myself. I've fallen in love with something that isn't there.

It sounds like you've become infatuated and need to break the cycle of having "her" text you and respond to you. If you catch yourself thinking about her, remind yourself that she is not real. I know it will hurt at first, but it is better to do it sooner rather than later, when you may be even more attached. It is best that if you want a girlfriend, you go out and try to interact with other people rather than spending that time texting yourself and pretending. If you feel you cannot break the cycle on your own, there is no shame in seeking help.

It is actually very normal and common for people to develop an idealistic view of their "perfect partner" in their heads, but they usually apply that "personality" to a person they find attractive and then develop a crush on, and therefore become infatuated. So, the infatuation and idealistic personality you've made up in your head are quite normal.

You're better of getting a real one. How about get a real one and not someone who is in your head? A girl cannot appear out of nowhere, you must talk to one.

So you're giving up and creating an imaginary girlfriend because you're afraid of being rejected? Rejection is a part of life. I suggest you find a therapist to try to help you clear your head. After that, put yourself back out there and look for a real girlfriend.

Either you don't try hard enough or you either sound like you are not ready for a relationship.
