Is it normal to say bless you as you are sneezing?

My dad yells out, "bless you!" at the same time he sneezes. So instead of saying, "achoo!", he says "bless you!" I guess he does this to bless himself...

Does anyone else do this?

    Haha the real question is, is it normal to say bless you to yourself. Maybe he's just being silly :)

    I always sneeze 2 times. After I sneeze the first time and someone says "bless you" I say "thank you" while I sneeze the second time.
