Is it normal to run 3 miles in 34 minutes?

Is it slow, normal, or a fast time? I have been running for a month everyday

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

It's a good pace for jogging.

I can't even run 3 miles period, so you're doing fine.

Running/jogging is rough on the spine and the knees. You would be better with an eliptical trainer or a stationery bike.

Considering I can't even run a mile I would say good haha, come to think of it getting in shape and junk is tgere much of a difference between running on a treadmill vs outside?

  • Who cares about the time? I think it’s great that you’re running.

It's slow. But, you are making good progress for only one month. Keeping your pulse in your aerobic zone is what counts. Zone = 70 to 85% of (220 - your_age).

I agree with Nikki. It's not very fast but that really doesn't matter

Good job! We've been walking/jogging consistently for about a month or so now. Soon I hope we'll be into biking and then hiking too.
