Is it normal to roleplay?

No, not the sexual kind of roleplay. But act like your favorite character from an anime/book/movie and have a conversation/story with your friends as these people.

I've been doing this with my friend for about six months. All was fine, only doing it a couple times. But recetly, we've only been doing the roleplay conversations. We don't have much else to talk about anymore.

She's my best friend, but we act like our roleplay couples when we IM. Is it normal to do this?...

Hey yes! I love cosplay, roleplay! I once did it with my cousins about Avatar: The Last Airbender! Hahaha! It was pretty stupid, but it was fun!

Normal. Come man people go LARPing at cons what are you worried about? Story Circles where one person starts a story and another continues have existed long before we called Role Playing.

It's not COOL. You're not a cool kid (neither am i) who cares just be happy. If you enjoy it don't surrender it.

Of course it's normal...if you're 10...but you've got someone to share with, (girl, no less). & you're not hurting anyone, so who gives a shit what anyone else thinks? Do what'cha like.(weirdo)

Normal to me. It's called having fun. I don't see what's wrong with entertainment.

Me and my friend are both amateur writers, and we often randomly switch from conversation to RP dialogue (with our own characters) and back again. We get some really weird stuff going, my character being modern and his being medieval. I find it hard to RP other people's characters, and I've never done it romantically or sexually.

RPing normal conversation is great for exploring, expanding and deepening areas of a character you hadn't even thought of before.

If you're into that sort of stuff then yes it's normal, that's the whole point of anime and comic conventions.

    • I am. But what she had said to me before worries me.
She had said, "I love these conversations because you don't need a boyfriend to feel loved. ;D"
